This renovated former automobile showroom contains 46 live/work apartments for artists. The project was funded through the sale of low income tax credits and offers a sliding scale of rents based on income levels.

The architecture of the project is on one level as basic and straight forward as it could be. Because the square proportions of the original building provide a large amount of interior area with little exterior perimeter, the internal spaces are vast. The luxury here is in the volumes, with light streaming in from 12x20 foot windows.

This building is just down the hill from the magnificent Victorian Norwich City Hall. One third of the project is a renovation of the existing masonry and wood mill and the rest is new construction.

The large windows of the exitsting building were replicated in the new portion.
